Kosher Passover Lasagna Recipe

Serves 4 to 8
Ingredients:
3 stalks celery, diced
2 medium onions, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1 cup mushrooms, sliced
1 pound hamburger (or ground turkey or veal)
3 cans tomato mushrooms sauce or 1 large jar spaghetti sauce
Salt, pepper and garlic powder to taste
4 eggs, beaten
4 sheets of matzo

Directions:

1. Sauté celery, onion, pepper and mushrooms.
Remove from pan. Brown hamburger.

2. Drain off liquid.

3. Add vegetables to the hamburger along with the tomato sauce or spaghetti sauce.

4. Add salt, pepperand garlic powder; simmer for 30 minutes.

5. Run the matzo under water, turning to rinse both sides. Do not soak matzo, just dampen.

6. Lightly coat both sides with beaten egg.

7. Place some hamburger mixture in bottom of a 9-by-13-inch (22.86-centimeter-by-33.02-centimeter) casserole.

8. Place two matzo on top of mixture. Repeat layers. End with meat mixture.

9. Pour any remaining egg over top layer.

10. Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit (180 degrees Celsius or Centigrade).
